Does your dog sniff everything on a walk? Are you looking for a fun game you can play together? Perhaps you’d like to cultivate a bond with a new canine family member or to form a working partnership with your dog? Is your dog older or recovering from an injury and Susanne has suggested an enrichment activity that can be tailored to your dog’s needs? Then please ask us about official K9 Nose Work® (K9NW™) classes at NCRFC! Jennifer Brown teaches these classes on Friday evening. She is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI™) with the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW™) and is an AKC Scent Work judge. Her classes are suitable for virtually any dog, even those with mobility and vision challenges or those who struggle with environmental sensitivity and reactivity. K9NW™ is an excellent enrichment activity as well as a rewarding competition sport. During Jennifer’s classes handlers and dogs learn to work together to hone their search skills as a team. They may choose to stay on primary odor and continue to enjoy an enriching game together or they may choose to go on target odor (birch, anise, & clove) and then move on to sport competition; either way handlers will learn how to play a fun game that their dog(s) will love for life.
