Kenai & Maki
Our experience with NCRFC has been absolutely incredible. We bring both of our dogs, and together with Susanne and her team, we’ve built a tailored fitness program for our Toller, Kenai. With their support, Kenai has gained over a pound of muscle and continues to excel as a top athlete across multiple sports. This year, thanks in part to Susanne’s guidance, Kenai earned recognition from NADD as the Top Toller in the country, and achieved his Dock Master (DM) and Dock Elite Advanced (DEA) titles. He also qualified for NADD Nationals again through his strong Air Retrieve performance, and we’re looking forward to another superb distance season. We truly consider our rehab team an essential part of our success.
Beyond dock diving, Kenai competes in scentwork, agility, Fast CAT, frisbee, hunting, and he hikes with us everywhere—his conditioning program supports all of it. Susanne has even taken time to evaluate his diet and has been incredibly supportive of our conformation goals.
Our Finnish Lapphund, Maki, has also made tremendous progress thanks to NCRFC. She is a dedicated hiking partner, one of the very few Finnish Lapphunds in the world competing in frisbee, and an outstanding scentwork dog. The rehab team identified a minor back injury that we originally thought was a training issue—especially when she hesitated to jump into the car. It turned out to be pain-related, and thanks to their treatment plan, she’s feeling so much better and moving confidently again.
We are continually impressed by how the team remembers every detail about our dogs and the compassion and care they put into everything they do. Susanne consistently puts the dogs’ welfare first, and she’s always a pleasure to chat with. NCRFC has become a trusted, indispensable part of our journey and our dogs’ continued success.
